Practical Pharmacy Assistant Courses

The Pharmacy Assistant diploma program at CDI College covers a broad range of subjects to help you get started in your healthcare career. Learn about pharmacy assistant practices, basic pharmacology, and drug and medical terminology which are key components of your pharmacy assistant courses.
Students also explore pharmacy computer systems, hospital and community pharmacy practices and procedures, drug dosage calculations, and compounding labs. In addition, instructors with industry experience will cover topics such as ethics, legislation, personal conduct, and workplace safety.

Hands-on Training

The Pharmacy Assistant diploma program also includes a field placement in a pharmaceutical setting. Work under the supervision of a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician and learn how to prepare, package, and store pharmaceuticals. Some of a Pharmacy Assistant's responsibilities include filling orders under a Pharmacist's supervision, entering client information, identifying the correct mixture or breakdowns for prescriptions, and preparation and processing of paperwork for orders.

Pharmacy Assistants can continue to grow their careers and train to become a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist.

  • Payment Plan
  • A simple plan may be available that spreads out the costs of your education monthly over the duration of your study period. For students who qualify, a monthly payment plan may be extended beyond the end of your study period. Bad credit and no established credit can often be overcome.   • Lifelong Learning Plan
